So, I’m sitting on a bed in a hotel room while writing this with a house that’s completely gutted and a suitcase full of beauty products and a couple of tops… don’t ask. Anyway, this isn’t the best way to start a fashion/beauty blog but here we go. Some of the best things are born out of unconventional circumstances. Wait, hold on…
…Ok, I’m back. I’m now in an apartment, a holiday let, my puppies sleeping at my feet while I write the rest of this. Now, on to the look.
This is a simple, casual look that is super comfortable. It’s jeans and a t-shirt at it’s finest! I rocked this look the other day when I was doing the last of the moving, ran some errands around town and went to a super casual evening get together with friends.
The jeans are a high street bargain from Dorothy Perkins that are surprisingly comfortable and flattering. I say surprisingly because I am a jeans snob. I say it loud and I say it proud. I normally only buy designer jeans because of the cut and the fit and because I have a bottom and designer jeans tend to have a bit more material on them for covering of said bottom and a better overall look when on the body. But I had no jeans, only leggings and I desperately needed some for, you know, going out into the world and all that. So my mother kindly bought me some cheap jeans that I thought would be good for just now, but I find myself liking them a lot. So, for any fellow jeans snobs out there and/or curvier girls like myself head down to Dotty P, you might surprise yourself!
The shirt is from New Look, oh how I love New Look. Contrary to my snobby stance on jeans, for tops I am an equal opportunity girl. If it’s a nice top, I’ll buy it; And I do particularly like New Look for a lot of things. It is probably my favourite high street store, they always have something surprisingly lovely except that I’ve ceased to be surprised at it’s loveliness. This shirt is no exception. It is soft and comfortable and the cut is flattering. Not too baggy that you look like you’re wearing a tent and not too tight that you look like you’re wrapped in sausage casing. The sleeves can be rolled up and the shirt can be unbuttoned a little to leave an alluring hint of cleavage…or more than a hint if that’s your thing.
On my feet I have my super comfy leopard print trainers that I bought a few months ago at, again, New Look. They are great for running around and they add a pop of interest to most outfits while still being ridiculously comfy. You can look like you’re not trying to be achingly stylish. I love it.
Oh, and on my head I just threw on a slouchy, cream hat.
And also a pair of Betsey Johnson Sunglasses that I got ages ago.
The photos that accompany this post were taken in Sydney, Australia outside of Central Court.
What are some of your favourite jeans brands? Do you prefer high street or designer?
I hope that you’re having a great day!
